March 24.—The admiralty today revised the casualtlea In the sinking of the British submarine H-42 In the Strait of Gibraltar, raising them from twenty-three to twenty-six. Three of the victims were officers and the remainder men. GIBRALTAR. March 24 —A naval court of Inquiry which has begun an investigation into the sinking of the British submarine H-42 with the loss of twentysix lives, established today that the submersible arose to the surface In the path of a speedy destroyer. RUN ON BANK LAID TO PLOT Claim Made Enemies of Official Wrote Anonymous Letters. CHICAGO. March 24—The attempted run on the Northwestern Trust and Savings Bank, In which hundreds of fcreignborn depositors stormed the Institution and demanded their money, was liid to a plot today. Enemies of John F. Smutski, former State treasurer and president of the bank, wrote anonymous letters causing the panic, investigators claim. “We want our money,” shouted the mob in front of the bank last night." “Come and get it,” yelled Smutski.
