LEGION POSTS SOLICIT JOBS BUDDIES Marion County Council Opens Drive in Behalf of Unemployed ‘Vets.* An Intensive campaign to aid In get' ting work for unemployed ex-service met In Indianapolis and Marlon County started today under the direction of the Marion County Council of the American Legiou Similar efforts are being made lu all p.-rts of the United States this | week by legion posts. In order to stimulate public attention to the fact that ex-service men form a vital part In practically every local business organization, and to show that employers are doing their part in adding ex-service men to their staffs as frequently as possible, all employers of i one or more former service men have j been asked to display prominently a yflag'* with the following inscription: Our Service Flag Still Flies. Every star means an ex-service man at work here —and we're .oud of them! A small star .or each ex-service man employed will be pasted on the central portion of .e flag, and the flag will be officially signed by officers of the Marion County council of the legion. John I’aul Ragsdale, president of the local legion council, has announced that all employers entitled to display such “service flags’’ who have not yet received their supply, will be promptly supplied by telephoning Lincoln 0141. A charge of 2.1 cents for each flag Is male to cover the cost of printing and delivery. An Important feature of the week's campaign Is that new stars for new men employed during the week will be furnished on demand. Thus It is expected that many of the flags on display will hear more stars from day to day as the campaign progresses. Notice to Our Patrons

Quite a number of our patrons, whose water bills for house use, bath, toilet, sprinkling service, etc., are $5.00 or more per quarter, have stated to us that they would prefer to take by meter measurement, but that they hesitate to do so on account of the inconvenience and expense of preparing for the meter installation. In order to accommodate these patrons, we are arranging to install meter connections, and this work will be done at a nominal cost to the patron. This refers only to those patrons who have basements where the meter can be conveniently and safely located. We expect to have our equipment ready to begin the installation of meter connections on or about April Ist, but applications for metered service can be made at our office at any time and the meter will be installed as shortly thereafter as is possible. Advance payment by fiat rate will be adjusted from the date of meter installation. Full information will be given at our office. Indianapolis Water Company
