LABOR HEARINGS INQUIRY SUBJECT Chicago Grand Jury Looks Into Acquittal of Leaders. CHICAGO, March 13.— Recent triala of labor leaders were probed today by a grand jury. The Jury considered alleged Irregularities said to hare resulted in acquittal of William Quesse and Simon O’Donnell, union business agents charged with levying graft on contractors and Thomas Welsh, charged with the murder of Adolph Georg, case owner. Probe of Walsh’s first trial was held while he was on trial charged with the murder of George Gast, George’a barkeep. Judge Kickham Sca.ilan, chief Justice of Criminal Courts, pleaded with the jury to “take the leadership of unions out of the hands of criminals and ex-con-victs.” Marion Club Will Have New Features ________ The building committee of the Marion Club, composed of A. H. Taylor, Kirke Howe and James M. Mi.rris, has announced when remodeling of the club quarters is begun in April the gymnasium will be converted into a case and dance floor, a ladies’ restroom will be added and eight new sleeping rooms will be added.

Lions Set 150 Goal in Membership Drive “One hundred and fifty members by April 8,” Is the slogan that has been adopted by the Lions’ Club in its membership drive now under way. Luncheons will be held at English’s case every day this week at which the drive, membership classifications and membership problems will be discussed. Many members have agreed to devote one-half day each to the drive and officers of the club say they feel sure the membership goal will be reached.
