INDICTS 3 BOYS FOR ARSON IN LUMBER FIRE Grand Jury Brings Charge of Murder Against Robert Page, Harry Wilson, Donald Sample and William Miller, three boys charged with causing a number of fires in and about Indianapolis recently, were indicted by the Marion County grand Jury on a charge of arson growing out of the $97,000 fire that occurred at the plant of the Brannum-Keene Lumber Company on the night of Jan. 2. Eighteen indictments and five discharges were listed in the partial report of the grand jury. Several other fires that it is alleged the boys started are under investigation by the grand jury, and it is probable that other indictments will be returned against them before the grand jury submits its final report to Judge James A. Collins in Criminal Court. The indictment returned against the trio alleges that on the night of Jan. 2 they set fire to a barn and lumber pile belonging to the Brannum-Keene Lumber Company. An indictment for murder in the first degree was returned against RobeTt Page, charging that on the night of Dec. 25, 1921, he shot and killed Anna Miles. Other indictments returned by the grand jury were Earl S. Crook, 1914 Prospect street, issuing fraudulent check; John Owens, 574 Wilkins street, entering a house to commit a felony; Morris Turner and Max Pope, burlary and grand larceny; Otto and John Pettit, grand larceny; Henry Bennett, robbery and grand larceny; Lester Parker, burglary and grand larceny; Thomas L. Clark, issuing fraudulent check; Jack Curlett, burglary and grand larceny; Thomas Crenshaw, grand larceny ; Samuel Smith, grand larceny; Sam Cornwell, entering house to commit a felony. MORRISTOWN MAN INSURANCE HEAD Organization Favors Delay in Paying Fire Losses. With the election of officers and the passage of a resolution urging the enactment of a law forbidding the immediate payment of a fire loss claim, the twenty-sixth annual meeting of the Mutual Insurance Companies’ Union of Indiana, which has been in session at the Denison Hotel for two days, came to a close today. The following officers were elected foi the coming year: D. E. Shelton, Morristown, president; F. P. Hines, Boonville, vice president, and H. L. Nowlin, Indianapolis, secretary-treasurer. The resolution regarding the payment of fire loss claims was advocated to prevent the payment of losses in arson cases. A law similar to the one in effect in Maine, where payment of claims is forbidden until after forty-five days have passed, whs favored by a number of delegates. INDIANA BODY CORPORATION SPED. Alleging that the Indiana Body Corporation is in grave danger of being ruined and that it is necessary that a receiver be appointed to handle the affairs of the company a suit was filed against the corporation today by Walter W. Woodruff & Sons. In addition to asking for a receiver the complainants ask for a judgment of SI,OOO, including a note, interest and attorney fees, that it la alleged the body corporation owes to the complainants NEGRO UNDER ARREST.
