THREEHELDUP AND 7 ROBBED, NIGHT’S RECORD Thieves and Brigands Busy Again Plying Usual Pursuit. BANDITS GET IMPUDENT Three hold-ups ind the usual number ©f robberies were reported to police headquarters last night. The hjnor of discovering the two grouchlest Dandlts foil to A. H. Brinkman, 2829 Station street, who was held up early today near Brlghtwood avenue and Twenty-Eighth street while on his way to work at the Big Four railroad shops in Brightwood. Two masked men covered him with revolvers and then one of them searched him from bead to foot without finding a single penny or one article of value, as Brinkman had prepared in advance for this very contingency by leaving all valuables at home. BANDITS RAID AT FAILURE. Angered at their failure to make a good haul, the bandits kept Brinkman covered with their heavy artillery for several minutes while they proceeded to tell him In a burst of oratory heavily burdened with high-powered profanity lust what they thought of any si Iff who would basely deceive a hard working, honest, hold-up man, by venturing out without any cash on his person. Finally they lets him and and as they went awav they still were filling the Brightwood air with their lamentations. Shortly before midnight John Torrence, 4311 East Washington street, was held up by a negro and robbed of $3 at Bade? and Roach streets. John Daniels, negro, 1607 Orange street, reported he had been held up and robbed at Capitol avenue and Washington street by a white man in a soldier uniform. GET 5500 IN JEWELRY. Jewelry worth about SSOO was obtained from the home of H C. McMillan, 517 East Forty-Fourth street, by burglars who entered the home while the family wa3 away yesterday afternoon. Among the missing articles are a diamond pin, two diamond rings, a gold ring and two watches. Two robes were stolen from automobiles in the Pearson Garage, 1717 Peareon avenue, by sneak thieves. When Joel Reese, 1610 Agnes street, came home late yesterday he found two men who had been rooming at his house had disappeared along with an overcoat, several pairs of shoes, a watch, coat and two savings banks. Imther Landers, 1420 Sheppard street, went to a picture show and when he got back he found mat his trunk, like Mother Hubbard's historic cupboard, was bare.
