INDIANS AGAIN BATTLE TROOPS Rebellion in TVlallabar District of India Shows New Life, LONDON, Jan. 13.—Despite official assertions that the Moplop rebellion has been put down in the Mallabar district ol India, word was received today from Allahabad that a battle had been fought near Tottakad between the Indians and British troops with heavy casualties. A force of 500 rebels under Konnaras Thangal, after killing two Hindu women and ravaging the countryside, has taken refuge in 'intrenched positions in the Edmorakam hill country. British soldiers are surrounding the rebels and a battle is expected. The rebel chiefs, Chembrasserl Thangal and Seethtkoya Thangal, and four followers have been executd by the British at Malpuram, said a dispatch from Calicut. Former Terre Haute Mayor Succumbs Special to The Times. BLOOMINGTON, Ind„ Jan. 13>-James B. Lyne, former mayor of Terre Haute, died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Edwin Fletcher, here last night. He was 90 years old. Lyne moved from Kentucky to Terre Haute in 1867 and was elected mayor In 1881. He was born in Tennessee, but went to Kentucky for bis education. He was a retired stone quarry operator, and lived with his daughter.
