Midnight Mass Will Be Observed Christmas Eve at SS. Peter and Paul’s
Special musical programs in observance of Christmas day will be given at moat of the Catholic Church services Sunday. There will be midnight mass on Christmas eve at the Cathedral and several of the other churches at which the choir and special orchestras will give unusually beautiful selections. Santa Claus will be given able assistance in his visits to the children of the First ward Christinas eve by the First Ward Republican Club, according to anI nouncement of William W. Edwards, president, today. The club today is putting Into half-pound packages (too pounds of candy which Santa though!fully forwarded. | In order that the old saint may have a fine Impression in the First ward, the i club is arranging lo put an organ on the motor truck in. which he will ride over the district. The organ will accompany a large chorus of children, who will be transported from place to place with Santa Claus. The plan is for Mr. Claus to visit seven places in tile Firs* ward. At each place (he carolers will sing and the benefactor will distribute candy to all the children who can crowd around the truck. The club, by this plan, hopes to see to it that no child in the ward shall
wake up Christmas morning with the feeling that Santa has passed them by. All that is necessary for the poor kiddies to avoid being missed is to be at one of the stopping places at the appointed hour.
