WARNINGS SENT BY MOTOR CLUB TO OFFENDERS Drive St eking to Prevent Fatalities Showing Good Results. The campaign seeking to prevent facilities and automobile accidents, and to frevent reckless driving in Indianapolis tn>l throughout the Suite, launched this reek by the Hoosler Motor Club in confunction with the Hoosler State Automobile Association Is already having good tesults, according to a statement issued today from the headquarters of the motor tssoclatlon. "Hundreds of report blanks have been lent In to our office bja vigilantes of the notor association," states if. E. Noblet, lecretaTy. "We are issuing a warning lotice to drivers against whom offenses lavs been reported,” he said, "and we ire spending our edu -atlonal work so lhat we are having scores of calls for Iddltional blanks on whlth to report offenses against laws or offenses against he common courtesy rights of others.” It la stated that ihe educational campaign Is to be continued throughout the Itate with a view of Inducing every Iriver to "drive as though a motorcycle top were right behind him,” In other irords to be on his best behavior at all lines. He may appreciate the latter information, if not the former. “Several against whom reports have been made are members of the Hoosler Motor Club. In our first announcement we stated that membership in our club does not give that member any right to bang a 35x5 non-skid haio around his brow and we expect to find many of our own members on the vigilante report list. “The point is, that when our members wholeheartedly get behind this vigilante campaign it will have a tremendous effect on their own driving and the delving of the thousands of non-members. The hope is advanced that by continuing this crusade our organization can make driving conditions safer-every where and to put an end to thoughtlessness, i discourtesy and reckless driving. As an | adjunct, therefore, to the activities of [ police departments throughout the State, ’we believe this campaign should have widespread support. We don’t need to dress in white hoods and do any kukluxism. but we do need to let drivers know when they are pulling this rough stuff or reckless violations of law and decency. “Our membership campaign will continue. also, through the winter, and other civic activities such as erecting danger signs will be carried on steadily as oar
