WORLD Y. W. C. A. TO HAVE ENTIRE WEEK OF PR A YER Local Association Will Give Pageant at End of Program. ■The world fellowship committee of the Young 'Women's Christian Association has completed its plans for the observance of the world s week of prayer during this coming week. This week of prayer is observed annually by both the Y. W. C A. and Y. M. C. A. all over the world. The foliowing are the subjects of prayer for each day: Monday, Africa; "uesday, the .Americas; Wednesday, Avia; Thursday, Australasia; Friday, eastern Europe; Saturday, western Europe; Sunday, the World’s Y W. C. A. A poster exhibit showing the. life of the girls and women all over the world will be displayed in the Association building and free-will offerings, to be given into the foreign department of the association. will be taken in all departments. On Sunday as a climax to the week’s program there will be a pageant entitled ‘The Women of the World" presented in Hollenbeck Hall at 4 p. m. This will present in tableau the contrast between the childhood, girlhood and womanhoor of non-Christian lands and in Christian countries. Twenty-fire girls from all departments of the association take part. Miss Alberta Yagerline is directing the pageant and Miss Cyrilla Humes is In charge of the music. Y. W. C. A. NOTES. The Kahn Club held its first club meeting on Monday evening, when sixty members gathered for supper In the Blue Triangle room. The tables were decorated with yellow chrysanthemums and autumn leaves, and lighted with yellow candles. * Stunts and musical numbers were presented during supper and a short business meeting followed. The following chairmen were elected; Florence Siddons. social chairman. Olive Saunders, membership chairman. Mary Diddle, athletic chairman. Alberta Dellinger, service chairman. Elizabeth Engelking. inspirational chairman. On Friday night the Kahn Club will give a carnival and dance at Kahn Tailoring Company and' the proceeds will be used to equip the athletic teams. The Lilly Club held Its monthly meeting on Friday. The feature of the party was the Toonerrille Trolley. All the latest movie stars appeared in costume. The Federation Council will hold its regular meeting on Monday at 7 o'clock. The Y. B. W. C. Club will have initiation on Friday evening. The industrial committee of the Y. W. C. A held its first meeting for the year on Tuesday night. Those attending were: Miss M. E. Hoagland. Miss Gene Brown. Mrs. Charles Butler, Mrs. R.;H. Flelg, Miss Mrs. Horace Shonle. Mrs. Mangus Manson. Mrs. Nellie Warren, Miss Florence Hoover. Miss Lucy Witheiem. Mrs. Robert S. Richardson, Mrs. William Bawden. A dress form class consisting of three !*sons, will be given in the wing department of the Y. W. C. A. This will be on Mondays, 7:00 to 0:00 p. m„ November 21. 28 and Pecemer 5. A form will be made for each member of the. class Y. W, C. A. membership is not required. The instructor will be Mrs. Mae King Stevenson. New students may enter the dressmsk ing classes this week for the last half of the fall term. This will be for six lessons. The classes met on Tuesday, 2:30 to 4:30 and 7:00 to 9 Of*. The open house tomorrow afternoon at the Association building will be in • harge of the industrial federation girls. It is from 4:00 to,0:00 in the lounge. The Business Women's Bible Class, which meets in the lounge on Monday nights at 6 30. will have as its subject rhis week "Standing with the People." T. R. White is the instructor. FIRST CONCERT PROMISES TO BE MUSICAL FEAST Community Chorus Will Sing at Tomlinson Hall \ Nov. 20. I The first of the season's municipal eoncerts will be in the nature of a Thanksgiving musical feast at Tomlinson Hall, Sunday, Nov. 20 at 3 p. m., the Indianapolis Community Chorus under the direction of Ernest Hesser, director of musiij of the public schools, will sing ■Mendelssohn's beautiful choral worK, "The Hymn of Praise.” The concert which is made possible by the Indianapolis school board and board of park commissioners, will be free to the public. The soloists, who are all local artists are Mrs. James H. Lowry and Mrs. Everett Johnson, sopranos; Charles McCarty, senor. Miss Dorothy Knight, accompanist, and the Indianapolis Municipal Symphony Orchestra*will assist. Frequent rehearsals of the chorus, soloists and orchestra under the director Mr. Hesser will insure the music loving public a pleasing concert.
