The chief railway lines in China owned by the Chinese government, but with a large measure of administrative control, reserved by the mortgage holders, are the Pekin-Hankow Railway, the Pekin-Muk-den lines and the Chanting Tai Yaaa Railway. In addition to these railways, mortgagess and railway loans, China is literally nailed to the wall by foreign ! mortgages in other enterprises. The boy with his parents, conse it, according to Mr. Burris, refused to attend school. He was sent to school, however, after the action was started and the case was dropped. Mr. Burris pointed out that there has been a Supreme Court ruling upholding the contention of the department of education. This was made in the case of State vs. O’Dell, 187th lnd„ page 84, In which the attendance law was upheld.

Jitney Drivers Test New City Ordinance Special to The Times.
