PEACE TREATY STAMPED 0. K. BY REICHSTAG Cabinet Warned Against Touching War Responsibility Issue. SENATE VOTE BY OCT. 14? By J. BART CAMPBELL. WASHINGTON, Sept. SO.—Assurances given him by Republican leaders that the anti-beer bill will be disposed of finally before the end of the present extraordinary session of Congress caused Senator Sterling, Republican. South Dakota, to concur today in a unanimous consent agreement for final consideration of the German, Austrian and Hungarian treaties Oct. 14, after he had previously blocked it in the Senate. BERLIN, Sept. SO.—The German -American peace treaty was ratified by the Reichstag today. The Reichstag committee on foreign affairs In its report on the treaty had recommended ratification. Before the Reichstag took cp debate upon the committee’s report, the cabinet appealed to members not to touch upon the “war responsibility issue'* in their publications Germany Is the first to ratify the treaty as the United States’ Senate has not yet taken such action. Under part three of the treaty It will be effective as soon as the German and American ratifications are formally exchanged in this city. The treaty was signed in Berlin Ang. 23, iaat. Hines Resigns to Become Normal Head L. N. Hines completed his term as State superintendent of public Instruction today. He will become president of the Indiana Normal School at Terre Haute tomorrow, Mr. Hines will be succeeded by Benjamin J. Burris, his assistant, who has been appointed State superintendent by Governor Warren T. McCray. Mr. Hines became superintendent of public instruction March 15, 1919. and was re-elected last year for two years more. The term being filled bv Mr. "Burris will expire March 13, 1923. Mr Hires will succeed W. W. Parsons, who resigned after many years as president of the normal school. OHIO GIRL, RUNAWAY, FOUNT) nERE Ruth Whitmore, 15, a runaway girl of Ashland, Ohio, was found at the home of James Copley, 2409 Prospect street, early today and taken t, tne detention home. Copley was arrested on a vagrancy charge and Is detained until the police complete their investigation of the case.

SO.—The personnel of title American delegation to the November conference for the limitation of armaments will be limited to four—Secretary of State Hughes, Ellhu Root, Senator Lodge and Senator Underwood—regardless of the sit* of delegations from other powers, it was dated officially today, following receipt by tiie State Department of Japan’s list of delegates.

STORM HURLS WRECKAGE OF SHOP INTO AUTO TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Sept. 30.—Three parsons are suffering serious injuries today as aresult of a windstorm which, sweeping westward across Indiana, attained cyclonic velocity here last night and did property damage mounting to thousands of dollars. Harry Lewis, 59. and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Graff, both 30. were injured when the wind demolished the G. M. Glick wagor. shop and hurled wreckage into the automcbil# they occupied. Many Schooners Are Captured in Raids by Morgan's Raiders In the greatest naval battle In the wartime history of Indiana SS.OOI schooners were captured by the valiant forces of “High Admiral” Bert Morgan, and "Commodore’’ Earl Rowley in Michigan City Bay yesterday. The 63,001 schooners were surprised and taken prisoners without the loss of a single one of the local forces. The spoils of war consist of one three masted schooner, and 110 barrels of beer, which according to figures submitted by survivors of the pre-Eighteenth amendment days, on the basis of eight ounces to a schooner, constitute exactly 80,000 of the small, popular craft that in the old days were familiar sights as they slid along the Indiana bars pushing a frothy white cap before them. The raid was made by Federal prohibition Agent Edward Berwanger, representing Bert Morgan, Federal prohibition officer for Indiana, and Prosecutor Rowley. The big schooner and most of the little ones are in charge of a prize crew at Michigan City, while a fewsample schooner'efs of the iner were sent to Indianapolis for chemical analysis to determine the exact percentage of alcoholic cargo carried by each of them.

SUES FOR $170,000 FEE IN LANDSALE McLemore Names Four in Plantation Deal. Judgment of $170,000 Is asked In a suit filed today In Superior Court, room 4, by Guy B. McLemore against Thomas P. Reynolds, George E. Myers, Fletcher Johnson and Waiter S. Johnson. McLemore In his complaint claims that he was given the right to arrange for I the sale of tho Somerset plantation* In Loulsana, which, belonged to Reynolds. The soiling price was to be $413,(K>0 and the plaintiff alleges he was to receive $170,000 for his work In making the sale. McLemore claims that he was deprived of his earnings and that Reynolds and others arranged tho sale without his knowledge or consent. He asks the court to issue a writ of garnishment against tho Commercial National Bank, where Reynolds Is said to have $25,000 on deposit. He asks for judgment ot $170,000 against Reynolds and the other defendants with the exception of the bank. STATE TO FIGHT U. S. QUARANTINE No Com Borers in Indiana, Wallace Says. A fight against the proposal of the Federal Government to include Indiana in a regional quarantine of corn and corn products will be mado by tho State, Frank N. Wallace, State entomologist, said today. The quarantine is being planned because of the presence of corn borers in a part of the district to be quarantined. Acording to Mr. Wallace there are no corn borers in Indiana and for this reason the State should not be quarantined. He said if such a quarantine is ordered every shipment of corn or its products must be examined and certified not to contain the parasite. A hearing will be held in Washington Get. 11, ro discuss the proposal. Mr. Wallace may attend the hearing. REHEARSAL FOR OPENING BILL. Recommends Bond of $1,500 for Ewing Harry Ewing, 116 Bloomington afreet, for who-se death William Bonnett la being held on a charge of murder, died as the result of a hemorrhage, according to Dr. Paul R. Robinson, county coroner, who completed th# autopsy today. The coroner also found that the man’s nose had been broken. Dr. Robinson esid he would not announce his verdict for several days. Bennett’s case was continued in city court until Oct 1L After examining eight witnesses Dr. Robinson recommended Bennett be admitted to $1,300 bond. Ewing died Thursday during a fight with Bennett, who is foreman of the Central Plating and Manufacturing Company.

Ralston to Resume Stump Wednesday Boyd M. Ralston will resume the evening stump next Wednesday In meetings at State avenue and Washington streot and Tibbs avenue and Michigan. C. J. Orbison will preside at the East Washington street rally and Mrs. J. W. Trenok will be the woman speaker. Frank P. Baker and others will appear with Mr. Ralston in West Michigan street. Henry, Socialist nominee for mayor, announced today that some of the delegatee to the miners’ convention will speak at a Socialist meeting et South Delaware street Saturday evening.
