A. B. C.B to Tackle Cuban Stars Sunday in Double Program C. I. Taylor's A. B. C.s will he home Sunday to meet the Cuban Stars In a double-header. Single games will be staged at Washington Park Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. The A. B. C.s have been doing fairly well In the East, considering the handicaps they have suffered by Injuries to Mackey and Day. Both were put out of the game soon after leaving on the trip by injured hands. However, Manager Taylor added two young pitchers that give promise of becoming mainstays. In spite of a crippled line-up the A. B. C.s came within one tame of breaking even with the famous Bacharach Giants in a series of games in Atlantic Coast cities. The injured players will bo ready for action when the A.s return Sunday, and followers of the local colored champs are sure to see real baseball. In a previous series with the Cuban Stars, played early in the season, the A. B. C.s won the * fdcta Johnson, veteran right-hander, is leading the A. B. C. pitchers lu games won. He is having one of bis best seasons since entering the game. Gocher, of the National Trotting Association, Is here, and today arranged match race between the champion Single G, and the champion trotter, Peter Manning: purse, $5,000; to be raced on Sept. 6 during the Grand Circuit meeting at Hartford. The money Is to be divided 60 per cent to the winner and 40 to the loser. Shooters Classified for Grand American Event in Chicago Next Week CHICAGO, Aug. 19.—Trap shooters who have entered the Grand American Handicap five day tournament, which begins Monday at the South Shore Country Club traps, were classified and given their handicaps by the committee Thursday. Class 1 was composed of shooters who average 94 per cent or over, class 2 from 90 to 94, class 3 from 86 to 00, class 4 from 82 to 86, and class 5 below 82 per cent, Ninety-six per cent men were handicapped seven yards and will stand at the 23 yard line. Stoney McGlynn, who Is In charge and is now on the scene, says that he expects a wonderful shoot. "I have heard from the members of four team aggregations that will compete In the American amateur five-man team championship on Monday, and they will alf be on hand.
