‘LONG DISTANCE’ SPEECH SLATED Will Make Address ‘Here* From Havanna Via Telephone. The fact that their speaker lives in Havana. Cuba, and can net get away to attend their annnal smoker in Indianapolis does not trouble the electrical men of this city when they start out to plan a program. The Electric Club, which is to hold its annual smoker at the Chamber of Commerce next Tuesday night, will hear an address by C. W. Ricker, vice president and general manager of the Havana Electric Railway, Light and Power Company, although Mr. Riker cannot be present. R. W. Tossle, electrical engineer of the city of Havana, will also speak, “sight unseen.” Neal Wynne, Milton Foxworthy and Wallace O. the Indiana Bell Telephone Company, and told him their troubles. •'Don’t let a little thing like Mr. Ricker’s absence worry you," said Wampler. “He can make his speech from Havana.” With the co-operation of American Telephone and Telegraph officials, Mr. Wampler is arranging to have a special connection set np with Havana through the A. T. and T. cable. The wire will be set aside for the evening, with sound amplifiers and other new developments of telephony, at both ends. Mr. Ricker will make his address over the telephone, and Mr. Wampler promises that every member of the Electric Club attending the smoker will hear tbs speech. Mr Tossie will speak, and the'city officials at Havana will exchange greetings with Indianapolis city and Chamber of Commerce officials. The officers of the Electric Club, which include representatives of the electrical supplies dealers and manufacturers and the utilities engaged in any phase of the electrical business, are Charles Smith, president; Thomas Hatfield and Ralph Mercer, vice presidents; George Skillman, secretary-treasurer, snd Neal Wynne, assistant secretary-treasurer.

Job, who recently assumed hia position as State supervisor of vocational rehabilitation.
