TRY TO SUBMERGE POLITICAL PHASE Presbyterians Gather for 133d General Assembly. Special to The Times. WARSAW, Ind., May 17.—Delegates arriving here today for the one hundred and thirty-third assembly of the Presbyterian Church, which opens Thursday, were greeted with an undercurrent' of political talk. One of the first questions arising will be the election of a moderator to succeed the Rev. Semuel S. Palmer of Columbus, Ohio. This position is one of high honor In Presbyterian circles and Is always sought by many candidates. x.isther election in which politics is Involved will be that of stated clerk to succeed the late Rev. W. H. Roberts of Philadelphia, who died since the last general aesembly. The post of stated clerk la considered the highest Individual position In the church because of the authority, honor and salary It carries and this also is the center of a miniature political contest. Most of the politics, however. Is under the surface because at the 1913 assembly there was such an open Scramble for office that a delegate denounced the practice of “the man seeking the office” and nominated John Timothy Stone of Chicago as moderator. He was elected and the denunciation of politics at that time caused the office seekers to cover up their efforts. •3.000 LOSS BY FIRE. HARTFORD CITY, Ind., May 17.—The farm residence of W. A. s s= BETTER VISION MEANS BETTER HEALTH MANY ills that the body is subject to can be traced directly to the eyes. For example, a torturous headache in either the front or back of the head is, in most cases, the result of an overstrained nerve in the eye. Even cases of indigestion, insomnia and nervousness have been cured by means of the proper glasses.
