Josephus Daniels Gets Near East Relief Job NEW YORK, May 12.—Josephus Daniels, former secretary of the United States Navy, has been named head of the campaign In North Carolina to secure old clothes for the relief of refugees In the Levant, It was announced today at National headquarters of Near East Relief. Owing to the chaotic conditions that have existed throughout Asia Minor, the Caucasus and Syria during the past year, relief agents overseas report that thousands of refugees are continually streaming into refugee camps of the American relief organization. Almost without exception, these reports add, the refugees are nearly naked and compelled to face bitter weather In little more than tattered old rags. Lnter this season the relief organization will conduct a countrywide campaign to secure clothes for ship ment overseas.
