ARTISTS APPEAR IN CONCERT HERE Interpretive Dancer Assists in Giving Program. Local artlsta of Uj Harmonl* Club, aajtfsted by Miss Marie dimer, interpretire dancer; Glenn Frlermood, baritone, and Raymond Ball, tenor, presented a delightful program of opera In Caleb Mills Hall Thursday night as one of the aeries of community concerts arranged by James H. Lorry, under the auspices of the park and school boards. As an opening number the “lntarmezao" from “Cavaleria Rusticana” was played by an Instrumental trio comprised of Miss Ruth Elizabeth Murphy, violinist; Miss Tuba Wilhite, ’cellist and Mrs. Franc Wilhite Webber, harpist. The trio also concluded the program with the aria, “My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice,” from “Samson and Delilah” (Saint Saens). Both numbers were played with smooth ■ureness and fine shading that was dejidedly pleasing. 1 Two charming ntimbers were “Light as a Fairy” and “For Thee Alone” from Webber’s “Oberon,” snng by Miss Leona Wright, Mrs. Paul Morrison and Miss Emma Doeppers. The flower duet from "Madame Butterfly” was sung In artistic fashion by Mrs. James H. Lowry and Mrs. Glenn Frlermood. A nice Interpretation of “Ah Che Morte” from “II Troratore” was given by Miss Wright and Mr. Ball. Mrs. Robert Kinnaird, who recently returned from New York for permanent residence here, sang “Vissi d'Arte” from “Tosca” In a most effective manner. The “Polonaise” from “Mignon" was Bung In excellent style by Mrs. Eeverett Johnson, soprano. Mrs. Marie Allison Elliott, who possesses a contralto voice f unusual depth and richness, sang the “Vocedl Donna” from “La Gioconda.” Cadman’s “P.obln Woman’s Song” from **6hanewis” was sung with skillful artistry by Mrs. Mildred Barrett Pearson, dramatic soprano. Glenn Frlermood displayed dramatic ability In his interrreation of the “Vision Fugitive,” from “Herodiade.” Interpolated between musical numbers Was the graceful dancing of Miss Climer. with a musical setting from Herbert Hadley’s Grecian dance from “Cleopatra’s Night." Accompanists for the evening Included Mrs. S. K. Ruick, Sirs. Frank T. Edenfcarter, Mrs. Howard Clippinger and Miss Dorothy Brown.

One of the most delightful social affairs of the week was the April tea given this afternoon by the auxiliary to the Southern Club at “Little Shadows," the home of Mrs. Frank Bates Flanner, 3335 North Pennsylvania street. Spring flowers in Dresden colors, combined with ferns and smilax, were nsed through the parlor, with shades of green and white predominating in the dining room, the serving table being effectively arranged with a centerpiece of Easter lilies encircled with a ring of tall white tapers In silver holders, shaded with green. The Ices were in Easter lily molds and cakes and bonbons carried out the green and white scheme. A program of music was given during the afternoon by Monfanl. harpist.
