CALLS FOR BERGDOLL Let’s Get Him’ Telegrams Flood Legion Office. “Now let’s have Bergdoll” Is the denand voiced in a flood of telegrams and letters pouring’ in from every State in the Union, national headquarters of the American Legion announced here today. The general public is leading In the “let’s get him" correspondence for the first time since Bergdoll achieved notoriety, the announcement adds. Aberdeen, S. D., tops the list of cities calling for the arch slacker's return. In one day individual telegrams came from Aberdeen's banks, business houses, city officials, public utilities. Commercial Club, South Dakota consistory No. 4, wholesale houses and a score of private citizens. J. K. Witherspoon, head of the United Spanish War Veterans, wired assurance of support in the legion's movement to bring Bergdoll back. Posts on the Pacific coast have united in raising a fund to further the movement. Kansas posts wire that they can raise enough men in thirty days to march into Germany and capture the draft evader if the Army of Occupation cannot be spared for the trip. “He called us poor simps; let us at him.” the telegram continued. F. W. Galbraith Jr., national commander of the legion, wired today from Washington, where he is attending the conference of President Harding's committee for relief of the disabled: “I am bringing every argument to bear on Government officials to hasten the demand for Bergdoll. The legion can not rest until this paragon of the disloyal is once more behind prison bars. I think that the time is not far away.” Kiwanians to Take Vets to Ball Game Plans for furnishing automobiles to disabled soldiers to the opening baseball gamp next Wednesday were made at the weekly luncheon of the Kiwanis Club yesterday at the Hotel Severin. Gipsy Smith, following his noon service at Keith’s theater, gave a fifteen minute talk at the luncheon. The club was the host, yesterday afternoon of the children of the Indianapolis Orphans' Asylum, in an automobile trip around the city and a visit to the fish hatchery at Riverside Park—a point of intense interest to the small guests, and each youngster was provided with a flag and candy and a balloon and popcorn. Following the automobile ride to the park the youug ones were the guests of Dave Coulter, manager of the Ohio theater, and saw two comedy films.

New Frat Body Is Formed Here A banquet will be held on the night of April 29, at the C’.aypool Hotel, by the Interfraternity Association of Indianapolis, a permanent organization which was effected last night at a meeting of various fraternity representatives at the Chamber of Commerce building. At last night's meeting the following officers were elected: President, Charles Remster; vice president, F. E. Raschig; secretary. Bruce H. Mclntosh; treasurer, William R. Stuart. A constitution and by-laws were adopted. Mr. Remster outlined the purposes of the association. Ft. Wayne May Urge Court to Lower Fare Threatening appeal to the courts unless the public service commission reopens the case and orders a reduction In rates, Creighton H. Williams, city attorney of Ft. Wayne, has filed a protest with the commission against the continuance of the 7-cent street car fare until Jure 30, recently granted by the commission. STORMONT WILL SUCCEED KEHLER Princeton Man Commander of State Soldiers’ Home. * Special to The Times. LAFAYETTE, Ind., April 7.—Gil R. Stormont, of Princeton, was appointed commander of the State Soldiers’ Home at a meeting of the board of trustees here Wednesday. He will succeed Col. Daniel B. Kehler as commanding officer of the Institution beginning May L PRINCETON, Ind., April 7.—Gil R. Stormont, elected Wednesday to the command of the State Soldiers’ Home at Lafayette, is a native of Gibson County. He was bom in 1545 and enlisted in Company B. Fifty-eighth Indiana volunteer infantry at the age of IS, serving four years. He suffered severe wounds at the battle of Chickamauga. At the close of the war Mr. Stormont taught school in this county and later attended Indiana University. He drifted into the newspaper field and in 1876. purchased the Princeton Clarion, which he published for twenty-five years, during which time he was a leader in Republican politics in Gibson County. He has served as supervisor of the census and as deputy collector of internal revenue. In 1900 he was chosen commandant of the Lafayette Soldiers' Home, in which capacity he served three years. In the meantime he had sold his Princeton paper. He resigned the position as commandant at the home to re-enter the revenue service.
