EDUCATION LAW ADDS EXPENSE Freeman Act Increases School Inspection Facilities. Enforcement of the Freeman House act authorizing the appointment of an assistant high and elementary school Inspector for the State of Indiana will add $2,500 annually to the pay roll of the State department of public Instruction, In addition to a Email Increase to the traveling expenses of the Inspectors, according to members of the department. The bill has no emergency clause- and ■will not become effective nntll the publication and distribution of the acts of the 1021 Legislature. Tho assistant inspector Is to be appointed by tho State Superintendent, with the approval of the State board of education. The appointment Is to be made within thirty days after the act becomes effective. The assistant, however, is not to be appointed unless the board deems his services necessary. The duties of the assistant will bo similar to those of the chief Inspector, and he will be required to make a report once each year to the State board of education, which board is to issue certificates to those schools which have met the requirements and recommendations of the board. By the provisions of the Freeman bill, the county superintendents are made cooperating agents with the Inspectors. The salary of the chief inspector Is fixed at SS,OOO a year, and the assistant Inspector will receive $2,500 a year, each being allowed their actual traveling expenses. J. K. Nicholson, press representative of Mr. Stuart Walker, announced today that Aldrich Bowker, Julia McMahon and George Somnes will be members of the Walker company at the Murat this summer. This is the first official announcement to come from the Walker people. The three named were members of the company last season. Rotarians to Hear Business ‘Wrinkles’ Two members will discuss the business classifications they represent at the weekly luncheon of the Indianapolis Rotary Club next Tuesday at the Claypool Hotel. Carl S. Cook will speak on “Kresge f/ re , and Ten Store—a National Institution and J. Lee Sweeney will speak on Noiseless. Typewriters—‘Safe, Sane and Sensible.’ ” vr Th t lunrhe °n on Tuesday, March 29, will be known as “Bovs' Day Luncheon.” Another red-letter day will be Tuesday April 12. as the Indianapolis Rotary Club, through Jack Hendricks, has extended an invitation to “Owner” Smith and the members of the Indianapolis Baseball Club to be their guests at the luncheon on that date.
