LEGION SERVICE DRIVE STARTED Fourth District Workers Open Headquarters. Special to The Times. GREEXSBURG, Ind., March 11—Headquarters for the American Legion serrlce and membership campaign in the Fourth district were opened here today and active organization work got under way. Earle V. Hitch of Indianapolis will direct the campaign, with the assistance of Phillip B. Stapp of Greensburg, the Fourth district member of the executive committee of the legion. Col. L. It. Glgnllllat. State commander, and L. Russell Nerwgent, State adjutant, also will take an active part In the movement. Mr. Stapp has called a district meeting at North Vernon for Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock and every one of the twentyfour posts In the district have sent word to headquarters that they will have representatives at the conference. Much enthusiasm is being manifested by the legionaires, Mr. Sapp states, and he is confident of the cooperation of every member. One of the first things that will be taken up will be a survey to locate former service men who are In need of help In arranging for proper compensation, vocational training, or hospital attention. This work will be a part of the campaign and will be given as much atten-

E. D. Stokes will contend the testimony introduced in her millionaire husband’s suit for divorce is the result of a “gigantic conspiracy,” was Indicated by her today. Mrs. Stokes, together with her mother, Mrs. Arthur S. Mills* of Denver, and Dr. Hal Billig, one of seven co-respondents, all hinted at a “conspiracy involving very prominent persons.” All the testimony introduced to date has been by witnesses for Stokes.
RESENTS DELAY IN BRIDGE WORK Park Board to Ask Commissioners to Fulfill Agreement. The boaru of park commissioners has decided to ask the county commissioners why they have not completed work on the Senate avenue bridge over Fall Creek, in accordence with an agreement made with the park board, April 17, 1919. The commissioners’, according to James 11. L>wry, superintendent of parks, agreed to finish the bridge, gravel the roadway across it and grade and gravel tu* approaches and to put In drains, sidewalks, curbs and conduits for electric light cables, but the project has been left dormant so-r months. Former Football Star Faces Charge CHICAGO, M_.rh 11.—George Richmond, 27, Chicago, former Notre Dame football star, today confessed, police said, that he had committed numerous robberies In and around Chicago during the last few weeks.
