Varied Use Made of Railing Before City Court Bench Providing the matrons at police headquarters have their way. a ladder will be placed at the east end or left side of Judge Pritchard's bench so that attorneys will have a place to rest their legs. In front of Judge Pritchard's bench there is a brass railing about four feet high. On first thought one might think that it was placed there for the protection of the judge. But, remembering that “there are two sides to all cases," it leads one to the conclusion that the railing was placed there as sort of “lawyers’ rest or lounge.” A lawyer in on “business” at one session of court caused amusement when he was noticed with his legs wrapped around the brass railing. Few contortionists could have performed the unintentional stunt. AMUSEMENTS.
