This announcement is made by the State department of conservation, with which citizens in three sections of Indiana recently discussed the establishment of private bass propagation ponds. At the request of the Tippecanoe County Fish and Game Association, George Berg, superintendent of State hatcheries, Investigated the feasibility of establishing a propagation pond in Lafayette. The association is cooperating with the Lafayette park board and proposes to utilize the pond in Columbia Park. Mr. Berg found the place adaptable. The association proposes to stock the Tippecanoe and Wabash Itlvers, three branches of Wildcat and Wea Creek with the hatch. James Doddridge of Milton and William Hunt of Cambridge City last week Lad Mr. Berg investigate a portion of the old Hagarstown-Cincinnati canal bed •south of Miiton as a possible bass hatchery, but it was found to be impractical. However, tho department of conservation representative located a pond a mile 60uth of Milton that can be made into an excellent hatchery. BUILDING LINE POLICY SOUGHT Property Owners Say Boulevard Rule Hindrance. A definite policy to be pursued in cases where the establishment of building lines on boulevards cut off the available ground on narrow lots so that It Is impossible for the owners to build anything on that which Is left will be outlined by the board of park commissioners soon. Such situations have arisen a number of times, particularly on Maple road, where the building line is twenty-five feet, it is said. With a building line located twentyfive feet from the street there'TS only, fifteen feet of a forty-foot deep lot left on which building Is permissible. Owners of such lots contend that they have been damaged by the establishment of such a building line and it Is understood the park board Is Inclined to agree with them. City Engineer Frank C. Llngenfelter was Instructed at the weekly meeting of the board Thursday afternoon to prepare data upon the number of lots affected in this way by building lines and the extent of the possible damage. Upon this data the board will determine its policy. Installation of horseshoe courts at Rhodius Park was authorized and a towel ticket system ordered installed at the Riverside golf shelter house.
