HITS SINN FEIN AT BIG MEETING Nephew of Lloyd George Speaks at English's. Dr. Arthur A. Evans, nephew of David Lloyd George, prime minister of Groat Britain, pare n forcible address on the situation existing between England and Ireland, at the men’s big meeting at English’s Theater Sunday afternoon. Dr. Evans strongly condemned Sinn Fein propaganda in his discussion of the grievances of the Irish in their relation to religion, land finanees and laws. There is no doubt Ireland has suffered many wrongs, but most of them happened long ago, he contended. The trouble with Ireland, he said, is that she has lived too long la memories of the past wrongs. Dr. Evans called attention to the fact that Catholic schools in Ireland are supported by Protestants, both in England and Ireland, and that the Catholic priesthood is more powerful in Ireland than In any other country In the world. He declared the government has spent more money on Ire: nd for years than has been brought in by taxes. The land question, he said, was settled largely by the land purchase act, previous to which bad landlordism was prevalent. Irelaud has been allowed more representatives in the House of Commons per capita than either England, Scotland or Wales, he added. Irish Independence. Dr. Evans regarded, as an impossibility because of the ‘voutlnual irenac-e’ it would be to England. BUTLER CLUB PRESENTS PLAY Dramatic Production Given at English’s.
