W. R. I. CLAIMS TOTAL MILLIONS Payments Indicate Volume of Bureau’s Work. Few persons realize the tremendous volume of business handled by the Bureau of War Risk Insurance since It began operation a few months after this country entered the World War. Allotments and family allowances alone have amounted to $534,801,626.92, according to a statement Issued recently by 11. G. Cholmeley-Jones, director of the bureau at Washington. Compensation claims for death or disability of 457.39S soldiers have reached the enormoua total of $114,765.422.84 and Insurance on our military and naval forces amounted to more than $40,000,000,000.
