JURY REFUSES TO BREAK WILL Homes Get Bulk of Estate of Mrs. Hettie A. Noe. A jury in the Probate Court late yesterday held that the will of Mrs. Hettie A. Noe was valid. The verdict will enable the Crawford Baptist Home, the Indianapolis Home for Agod Women and other beneficiaries to receive the bulk of the estate, estimated at more than $12,000. The suit was filed by Mrs. Fannie B. Shldeler and other nieces, with several ' nephews of Mrs. Noe against the Union : Trust Company, executor, and the beneficiaries, asking that the will be set aside ; on the ground that Mrs. Noe was of unsound mind at the time it was made. The trial was in progress for nearly two weeks. Local Man Held for Money Order Fraud Howard De Hart of this city Is under arrest on a charge of forging the name of the sender of a postoffice money order at South Bend in August, 1919. De Hart was indicted by the Federal grand jury in a partial report made to Judge Albert B. Anderson last week. It is alleged that De Hart was working at South Bend and a colored workman employed on the same Job gave him S4O with which to purchase a money order payable to the colored man's wife at Okmulgee, Okla. De Hart, it Is said, purchased a money order for $lO, changed the figures of the receipt to read S4O and pocketed the remaining S3O. He did not mail the $lO money order, but forged the signature of the sender about two weeks later and obtained the $lO, It Is charged. The case was Investigated by H. H. Wasson, a postoffice inspector. De Hart was released under bond of SI,OOO. Democratic State Call Being Sent Out A call for the Democratic State committee to meet at the headquarters In the Denison Hotel the morning of Feb. 8 was Issued today by Benjamin Bosse, State chairman. The committee w:ll fix the date for selecting city chairmen in cities that will have elections next fali. The meeting will come on the same day as the Democratic editorial banqnet and a large number of party leaders are expected to be present.
