Judge Says Threats Are Made Against Him BALTIMORE, Jan. 5. —Police Justice Paul Jobannsen announced in his court that threats had been made to kill him and to dynamite homes of employers by striking clothing workers. He said he had been warned on the telephone that his life would be in danger unless he changed his attitude on the strike situation. Newspaper Placed in Receiver’s Hands MARTINSBTTRG, W. Va., Jan. B.—The World Publishing Company, publishers of the Martinsburg World and two weekly newspapers, was declared bankrupt by Circuit Court Judge Woods today on petition of Col. Stuart W. Walker, a stockholder. J. Nixon Kilmer was named receiver and took over the plant Immediately. The liabilities and assets were not named In the petition.

WITNESSES BRING ‘TOOLS’ TO COURT Empty Flasks and Dope Needle Found in Room. The fact that they were at the very threshold of Federal Judge A. B. Anderson’s court has not deterred witnesses called before the Federal grand Jury from having “hip” and “wrist” parties in the Becond-X-oor restrooms, United States District Attorney Frederick Van Nuys Indicated today. A few days ago, after a series of liquor cases had been Investigated by the Jury, empty whisky bottles were found In the restroom, Mr. Van Nuys said. Yesterday, while violations of the anti-narcotic laws were being inquired Into, Charles Da Salle, bailiff in Judge Anderson's court, found a hypodermic needle, such as drug addicts of the "shooting” variety use, in the room. The district attorney is wondering If other classes of witnesses are going to bring their "tools” with them.
