One clever feature of the decorations was a ribbon line bung across the ledge of the fireplace, oe rhleh was suspended miniature red stockings filled with candlea, one for each guest. During the afternoon Mrs. George C. Stelhorn, garbed as Mrs. Santa Claus, distributed gifts among the members. Mrs. R. L. Davidson read a paper on “ChriJkna s Carols," Illustrated by voice ifhmbers, “Come All Ye Faithful,” “While the Shepherds Watch Their Flocks by Night," and “Joy to the World.” Mrs. Frank R. Burns sead “The Spirit of Christmas. - * The enire club sang Christmas carols. • • William H. Green, who has been in service on the S. S. San Francisco, is passing two weeks’ furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Green, 2341 Ashland avenue. He will leave Jan. 4 for a four months’ cruise In. Southern waters. • • • Sayers J. Miss Marian Louise Pratt, harpist, played soft bridal airs, preceding and during the ceremonv. Miss Nellie Alford of Anderson, sister of the bridegroom, gowned in black velvet combined with cream-colored lace, with a large black velvet hat and corsage of Mrs. Aaron Ward roses, was the bride's only attendant, nnd Kenueth Hill of Anderson acted as best man. The bride wore a hanlsome frock of tan duvetyn braided In brown, with hat of the same shade, and her bouquet was a shower of orchids, Ophelia roses and lilies of the valley. Among the out of-town guests were Mr. nnd Mrs. W. J. Alford, New York City; Mr. and Mrs. 11. J,-Campbell. Kansas City, Mo., and R. B. Alford, Chicago.
