‘Lent Ouf Plan to Provide Happiness for Many Children Mothers Aid and Man Who Remembers Toyless Childhood to Bring Joy to ‘Kids. 9
Under the supervision of the Mothers’ Aid Society, an organization which care* for mothers, together with their children, a number of their proteges will spend Christmas day "lent out." The kiddles will not only experience the pleasure of a day In a comfortable home, but will l* made happy for the entire year with gifts of recreational and material benefit Thev will be given candy, toys and clothing and will make a close acquaintance with a Christmas tree. "Have a Christmas Fairy in Your Home,” is the slogan of the families who are planning to have some wee tots spend either Christmas day of the holidays with them. .. , One little girl is going to a mother who lost her own little girl. She is just the age of the mother’s own baby, and on Christmas day she will be in the place of the little girl who died, and in the evening when she goes home, she will wear the clothes which belonged to the absent tot. Another family which will be made happy consists of a poor mother and three little tots, who will be the guests of Mrs. Frank A. Richards, 858 Oakland avenue. Did you ever look back to the Christmases you spent, recalling the full stocking and the toys around the fireplace. Well, according to Paul P. Parker, people can all look back, but can’t all have that memory. At least he didn't, but this year he is going to see that some “kiddies” have thaa joy. tnder his guidance many of the little charges of the Mothers’ Aid will be made happy Christmas morning when they find the toys which Santa Claus has .est them through the agency of Mr. Parker. “I want them to have toys. toys, toys, declared Mr. Parker. “1 can remember when 1 was a boy how I longed for the toys that I never got. end I want to make some children happy in the way I have always wanted to be happy. And so Mr. Parker has invested all his “chrrity” in toys. But. “spending the day out is not the only way that the children can be made happy and comfortable on Christmas day. \ Christmas party is going to be given by the Broadway M. F. Church to the children of the Fa'.rview Settlement, and the Central Avenue M. E. Church will give an entertainment for the purpose of raising funds to purchase presents for their stockings. The King's Daughters of the Second Presbyterian Church will also give an entertainment for Christmas rheer. and the teachers and clerks of the city are planning to fill a number of baskets with substantial Christmas dinners.
