The Marion County Tuberculosis Association today announced that the Indianapolis Federation of Teachers, through Elsa Huebner, president, and the executive board of the organization, has volunteered to become an active participant in the 1820 Christmas seal program. In addition, to the cooperation that will be extended to the seal sale, the Teachers' Federation has announced the appointment of Mrs. Frances <Hull of School 41 as health chairman to represent the federation in the general public health program for 1921, which will be carried out by the Anti-Tuberculosis Aasociution. Large contributions to the seal sale continue to be received at the seal headquarters, 627 Pythian building. INDIANA BOY WINS ESSAYCONTEST Upland Youth Heads List From Three States. Wendell Ayres of Upland, it was announced today, has been awarded first prize for the best fire prevention essay submitted from his geographical district by the board of judges in the Boy Scouts’ essay contest, of which Maj.-Gen. Leonard Wood was chairman. In this competition, which was arranged by the National Board of Fire Underwriters, the fourth section covered Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. The sectional prize consists 1 of a solid gold medal designed and executed by Tiffany & Cos. of New York for the National Board of Fire Underwriters, which donated all the prizes. In addition to General Wood, there were four other judges on the committee, as follows; Colin H. Livingstone, James E. West, president and chief scout executive, respectively, of the Boy Scouts of America; Charles Lyman Case, president, and Wilbur E. Viailaiieu, general manager of the National Board of Fire Underwriters. They awarded the second prize for Indiana, a bronze medal, to Eugene C. Volz of Winamae. The national prize winner, Lewis Adam Vincent, of Oakland, Cal., received a SIOO camping outfit, in addition to a gold medal, and the leaders in the seven other geographical districts, into which the country was divided for the contest, also received gold medals.
