SUNNYSIDE PLANT ADDS BUILDINGS Improvements Will Aid in White Plague Fight. To enable Marlon County successfully t> battle with the white plegue, work is being completed on new buildings and equipment at Sunnyslde at a total estimated cost of $215,222.50. Superintendent Hatch of Sunnyside, a county Institution for the cure and prevention of tuberculosis, reports that an extensive building program'ls being completed. A service building, including dining rooms, kitchens, quarters for employes and the like, has been completed tit a coat of $75,683. /Ecjulpment totaling $13,802, Including china, tables, linen, hardware, furniture, utensils, X-ray equipment and the like, has been placttd In the new service building. Work is being rushed to complete a power and heating plant by the first of the year. When completed and equipped the power and heat plant will have cost approximately $119,537.50. Pending tho putting Into service the new power plant, an old furnace, entirely too small for the institution, Is being used. Delay In the sale of patriotic tuberculosis cure bonds prevented the power and heat plant from being ready in the early fall. The service buildings as well as the other buildings will be heated by the new power and heat plant. The institution has needed such a plant for yeara so as to be able to succQiafully battle with the white plague. When the new service building is put entirely In use, and that -frill be when the power plant Is placed in operation, more room will be made in the main building for patients, as nearly everything has been huddled Into two buildings at the Institution. Court Awards Boy Gold He Discovered Special to The Times. NEWCASTLE, Ind., Nov. Id. — Owner* ship of $1,300 in gold found buried on a farm near Greensboro six months ago by Levi Todd, a 15-year-o’d boy, was settled Monday in the Circuit Court hero by Judge Gauss, who decided that the boy has the right to keep the money. While excavating for a basement under an old housd* young Todd drove his pkk into an earthenware jug containing tho money, the finding of which started a three-cornered fight for the possession of It. Mias Clara Freeman Vickery of this city claimed the money was a pari of hr# mother’s estate, and John Hardin, present owner of the farm, sought an Interest as owner of the land on which the money was found. Judge Gause, in giving the money to Todd, held that the evidence was Insufficient to show Mrs. Vickery's mother hail buried it, and Mr. Hardin's ownership of the land did not give him ownership of the money because he was Ignorant of its existence. TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Nov. 16.—Two men entered the general sthore of Ernst Sepzcr at Graysville, near here, last night and escaped with SSOO In cash and some checks, the amount of which has not yet been determined. The men blew the safe and are thought to have escaped In an automobile. Two strange men who were seen about tbe town yesterday are suspected of the robbery. SCHOOLS FIGHT DISEASES. LAFAYETTE, lud., Nov. IC.—Because of the prevalence of scarlet fever and whooping cough, the schools of Perry Township. Tippecanoe County, will be closed for about two wesks, according to announcement of authorities tnad* here today. There are said to be several cases of both diseases In the school* and this action was taken to prevent their spread.
