CHURCH TO GIVE 2-DAY PAGEANT Deplete Story of Nations . Without Christ. "The Light of the World,” a pageant depicting the story of the nations of the world without Christ, the coming of the prophet and the transformation will be presented Thursday and Friday evenings at the East Tenth Street M. E. Church nnder the auspices of the Rev. George S. Henninger, pastor, for the purpose of illustrating the disposition of the $120,000,000 raised by the Methodist churches of the United States for the centenary fund. Franklin D. Leete, bishop of the Indiana area of the Methodist Churches, will deliver an address upon missionary work at the church tonight. The cast of the pageant Includes the prophet who predicts the future of the church, the church, the American citizens, the American soldiers and the following non-Christian countries, each of whom appeals for life: Africa, Turkey, India, China. Japan and Pacific islands, Sonth America. There also will be booths of each missionary field in which hosteses in native costumes will preside. Mrs. Helen Lynn will preside in the Chinese booth, and Mrs. W. F. Walker, a returned missionary from China, will tell her experiences in missionary work in China to the visl>tors. Mrs. H. C. Phlllmann will occupy the booth of India, and Mrs. Paul Mlllholland, a returned missionary from India, will be in the booth. Mrs. Charles Coleman will have charge of the Korean booth. In the African booth an African quartette will give selections, and Mrs. Alta Balay will l>e the hostess. Mrs. John T. Rubusb will be in the American city booth. Mrs. L. M. WARFIELD REVIVES OLD SUCCESS Friends Called Charlotte *Funny Feet*

David Warfield and his supporting company, under the direction of David Belasco, will begin a three-day engagement at English's on Thursday night lu “The Return of Peter Grimm.” Patrons of the theater need not go far back in their memories of the stage to recall this exquisite drama, since it js less than ten years ago that It was first produced. Its theme, at the time of Its first production, was somewhat in advance of the thought of all save a minor part of the play going public, but since that time the theme of “The Return of Peter Grimm” has become a subject of world wide study and discussion. The role calls for the best acting possible at the hands of the distinguished star and his success shows how completely he has realized the opportunities of the part. FARM OFFICIAL ON TAX BOARD John Brown of Rockport New State Commissioner. John J. Brown, Rockport, and Philip Zoercher, Indianapolis, have been appointed members of the State Board of Tax Commlsslomrs. Mr. Brown succeeds Strange N. Cragun, Republican member of the board, whose term expires Dec. 4, while Mr. Zoercher will succeed himself, bis term- having expired some time ago. The commissions of both appointees will be dated Dec. 1. Mr. Rrown Is a fanner and attorney of Rockport, Spencer County, and is vice president of the Indiana Federation o Farmer*’ Associations. He Is president of the Brown Trust Company of Rockport and a member of the Spencer County Bar Association. His appointment was made with the approval of Governor-elect Warren 1.
