Sags Vote Against World Pact Will Undo Great Work Pd&ring that a political change of Administration will mean the undoing of a great work by a great President —President Wilson —Albert Greenfield, 215 South Illinois street, makes an earnest appeal to voters to support the Xiaagae of Nations In the November election! Mr. Greenfield’s letter is as follows: Editor The Times: A political change of the national Administration next spring will mean the undoing of the great work of a great President. The peace mansion built for humanity's sake, under which heavy burdens the President broke down, by nerve-racking mental and physical strain, will be a sac-

rlfice to the god of reactionary force. It Is up to the people of the United States tnat it shall not be. So far, it seems a very close race—close by the unfaltering efforts of the Roman nobles affiliated with the Re publican party. It should be a glittering spectacle before the eyes of the voters that this is a combat between nobles and Democrat*. The one great issue of the campaign, the League of Nations, unscrapped and unmolested, is the stepping stone to a new world and anew life. If this is not so, the President of the United States, the Hon. Mr. Woodrow Wilson, would not have brought it here and laid It down on the altar of the country for the people to embrace. Shall this country refuse to embrace It and demonstrate that Mr. Wilson Is living ahead of his time? It may not matter, at present, whether we are in our out of the league, but the future is au uncertain thing, and every ticking of the clock ahead of us

is a “future.” Nor should Governor Cox be ashamed to tell us outright that he will follow In the footstep* of President Wilson, because in doing so he will follow the footsteps of the greatest statesman of the age. ... ... We can hear it daily from radical sources that the league will Impair the Integrity of the Monroe Doctrine. It is not a sincere argument, because It cannot be. The League of Nations will give more strength to the Monroe Doctrine. We notice, further, the argument that if the United States becomes a member of the league it will Involve us In foreign wars. War with who? The central powers, in the !*rery that they brought upon themselves, are not on the warpath, and will be invited in the league as soon as they are presentable. The Russian bear.
