WINTER CONCERT i SERIES OPENS 13TH Total of 91 Entertainments to Be Given Public. The winter musical program of ninetyone concerts to be given free under the auspices of the board of park commissioners and the board of school commissioners will he opened with a concert b.v the New York Chamber of Music Society at Caleb Mills Hall the evening of <>et. 13, Superintendent of Parks .lames H. Lowry announced today. This organization is composed of eleven musicians, each a well known soloist, gathered together by Miss Carolyn Beebe, one of the country’s best known pianists. It is the only society of its kind, growing since 1913 to have a worldwide reputation. Its unique position in the musical world is due to the fact that it plays the music of the great composers written for what might be termed a miniature orchestra, that is to say, such exquisite things as Schubert's octet In F major, Brahm's quintet in B minor and many other pieces of composers who wrote some of the world's masterpieces to be Interpeted by fewer Instruments than are in a symphony orchestra. The artists besides -Miss Beebe are Pierre Henrotte, first violin; Herbert Scman, second violin; Samuel Lifscbey, viola; Paul Kefer, 'cellist; Emil Mix, double bass; Gustave Langenus, clarinet; William Kincaid, flute; Henri de Busseher, oboe; Ugo Savolini, bassoon, and Joseph Franzl, French horn. Veterans in K. of C. Vulcanizing Class The Knight* of Columbus night school course in vulcanizing will be in charge of Charles E. Kaser of the Quick Tire Service, Inc., It was announced today. Classes are being held, free of charge, In the vulcanizing shops of the company, fifty-two ex-service men having enrolled for the course.
