GAMBLING RIFE IN CITY SUNDAY Police Round-up Results in Arrest of 91 Men. In a aeries of raids on both, indoor and outdoor dice and odTd games the police arrested ninety-one men and ono boy during the week-end. When the police Tlsited the poolroom of George Pranger, 1033 Lexington avenue, they could not tell whether Pranger was conducting a kindergarten or a pool room, and he was charged with,, keeping u gambling house and allowing minors In a poolroom. Besides the one boy, whom the police took to the detention hpme, the police arrested twelve men in the place, charging them with gaming and visiting a, gambling house, and one of these twelve gave his age as 16 years. The police say they captured a pair of dice and 75 cents as evidence. When the numerous gambling houses on Indiana avenue attempted to open the proprietors found the police going in and out so often that they had little luck at starting craps games. Syllvester Farmer, negro, 508 Indiana avenue, however, was arrested charged with keeping a gambling house and thirteen negroes caught In the raid were charged with gaming and visiting -a gambling house. When the morals squad visited a room on the upper floor of an old brewery building at New York and Agnes streets they arrested twenty-three men, some of whom ere well known to the police. All are charged with gaming. The police captured the dice and >2. In a raid on the old Labor Temple, on West Washington street, the police arrested eight men who are alleged to have been playing poker. Harry Fisher was charged with keeping a gambling house and the police captured a deck of cards and $3. Six men, a pair of dice and $1 were taken in a raid on an open air craps game at Meridian and Wiscousln streets. Four alleged craps shooters were arrested near the P. & E. roundhouse.
