OHIO WOMEN TO BOOST HARDING Try to Offset Militant Attack on Nominee. -t MARION, 0., July 16.—Ohio women are organizing a “Harding for President cKfb,” to offset the effect of a recent statement issued by the militant suffrage organization at Washington, D. C., attacking Nominee Harding for alleged lukewarmness in support of suffrage. The militants will be In Marion July 22 for the Harding notification ceremonies. Alice Paul, their leader, has obtained from Senator Harding an agreement to grant her a conference early in the day. at which she will present a demand that Harding insist on action by Vermont or Connecticut on the suffrage amendment before the* November elections. Senator Harding will discuss the suffrage issue in his acceptance speech. In the meantime, Ohio women are backing up Senator Harding, who stated re-_ cently that the republican party is responsible for the submission of the suffrage amendment, and no matter which may be the state to finish the ratification, actual accomplishment of suffrage should go to the credit of the republicans. Mrs. C. C. Pavey of Columbus is president of the Ohio organization. Senator Harding issued a statement yesterday to the effect that the organization es a third party and the placing of a third national ticket In the field wiU not change his campaign plans. Hatfield, owner of a printing" establishment bore, today appealed for aid in finding his wife. Under an arrangement recently entered into, Hatfield has breakfast with his wife every Sunday morning. “There was no trouble between us," he said. “She wanted to work so she started out to find a Job and & furnished room.
