3 GENERALS FACE COURT-MARTIAL Mexican Government Balks Attempt at Overthrow. MEXICO CITY, July 16.—The de la Huerta government frustrated a projected coup d'etat with capture of Gens. T'ablo Gonzales. Carlos Garcia and Josa Ssntos, who were preparing to execute a well planned maneuver for overthrowing the present regime, it became known Gonzales, who formerly wes a can 11date for the Mexican presidency, was said to he the leader of the scheme. Garcia was his chief of staff, and Saa tos was governor of the state of Nuevo Leon under President Carranza. They will be court-martialed on charges of rebellion, it was announced at the war office. The court-martial, which will be held Immediately, was expected to bring sensational disclosures. Officials said Gonzales had completed His plans within the last fortnight. The revolt was to have started with an attack on Nuevo Laredo to be led by General Ricardo Gonzales, for the double purpose of controlling the railway terminal there and embarrassing the de la Huerta government and possibly bringing on complications with the United States, It was said. It was also planned to bring together all the general factions in Mexico. Military leaders under Carranza and Gonzales were taking measures to obstruct the government from the inside.
