Lawyer Dies at Nashville, Ind. NASHVILLE, Ind., July 2.—Anderson Percifleld, aged. 68, is dead here of cancer of the stomach. He was a widely known lawyer and politician and had spent the greater part of his life in this community. After attending Indiana university two years he was admitted to the bar when he was 21 years old and had been employed on important cases in almost every county lu southern Indiana. Mr. Percifleld was the republican nominee for ongress from the Fourth Indiana district in 1904, but was defeated by Lincoln Dixon, democrat. He belonged to many orders and was a member of the Christian church.

K. of C. to Observe 4th at Turner Park Independence day will be observed by the Knights of Columbus of Indianapolis Monday, with an all-day patriotic celebration and outing at Turner park. Preparations on a big scale have been made for the event and a committee of seventy-five has been busy with the arrangements for several weeks. Paul Flanary is chairman. , A patriotic program will be held at 4:30 in the afternoon in charge of William M. Madden. Michael E. Foley will speak on the significance of the day. During the excerelses a "community sing” will be given under the direction of 11. P. PaganL Athletic events will precede the patriotic exercises.

Loyal Service Gets Men Share in Stock NEW YORK. July 2.—William H. Todd, president of the Todd Shipyards Corporation, today distributed to his employes $1,000,000 In stock as a reward for their loyalty and efficient service during the past four years. The market value of the stock today Is $165 a share, and as many of the men received allotments of as many as fifty shares, they are In a fair way of becoming the wealthiest shipyard employes In the world. The stock awards concede every department in every one of the ToddovvntHi yards iu this port, as well as ir. Seattle and Tacoma on the Pacific coast. President Todd told the men that if they chose to leave part of thelt allotment on deposit with the company he would double It for them at the end of four years.

Touring Car Robs Kokomo Man of Wife KOKOMO, Ind., July 2.—Henry Overholser has sued John E Miller for $7,000, charging that Miller alienated the affections of his wife. Overholser alleges In his complaint that he was at a disadvantage in that he was compelled to labor daily, while Miller owned a touring ear and was comparatively wealthy. ' Overholser says he broke off the attachment and the attentions of Miller for a time after friends had written Miller that Mrs. Overholser was a married woman and that her husband was very fond of her. But the touring car proved too alluring and Miller is alleged to have again won the •‘’.ffectlons of Mrs. Overholser.
