REAL ESTATE GOSSIP ' By REALTOR “AL” EVANS
Som Mr. King of Denver make a hit with the evening papers? He do not. Orlnalade made a good auctioneer in the centennial parade. Did Bowman Elder outgrow his car or did the car shrink? We heartily congratulate MacLeod and his helpers on the wonderful showing made In the centennial parade. According to Mr. King, now is the time for that co-operative advertising campaign proposed some months ago by the local realtors. Among the new members at the luncheon this week was John Roberts. L* _us, Reagan, William S. Allen and Ken Badger. Temp may have been fed with a silver spoon, bat It isn’t time for him to drink oat of a silver cup. , The MacLeods says he appreciates all those verbal bouquets, but, thank goodness. it only happens once every hundred years and he does not expect to be here at the next centennial. Mayor Jewett admitted at the realtors smoker that Indianapolis needed a larger downtown street car loop. Has Bert Essex persuaded Charlie to let us it now or is he going to hesitate. Everybody keep your eyes on MacLeod. I saw two policemen in his office in less than half an hour wanting to get in touch with him Immediately. Announcement is made of the organizing of the Griflith-Shelhorn Company, Realtors. They have offices at 111 Monument circle. Kenneth E. Griffith Joined the J. F. Cantwell Company when that firm opened offices here. Prior to Joining that firm he was in the air service overseas. Before the war Mr. Griffith was connected with the rental department of one of the larger rental agencies in the city and later with the sales end of the firm. Robert H. Shelhorn Joined the sales force of the* Cantwell company after his return from France, where he served with the A. E. F. They are engaged in the insurance and general real estate business. Tie antagonistic attitude taken by the average tenant of rental property is Jeopardizing their chance of retinlng possession of the property, as the owners have in a great many instances requested the tenant to vacate. This is more especially true regarding double houses. In a large majority of cases people buying double houses are buying them for Investments and not for homes. If th tenants are wiTling for the prospective buyer to go through the house he is noi earning the ill will of either the old owner or the new owner. If the prospective buyer is going to make his home In the property one of ffce tenants will have to move. If one of the tenants refuse to let the new owner examine the house on the inside be has earned the ill will of that owner. The other tenant has probably been very courteous in showing the buyer through the house . It is easy to see which tenant the new owner will want for a neighbor.

Come early and bring your lunch. SSO FOR A NAME The name of our addition is “Audubon Gardens.” "We now want a name for the wooded portion. So long as we retain ownership of this wooded spot, every lot owner may use it for picnicking and recreation. But we want a name for it. For an acceptable name we will give SSO cash. Audubon Gardens for the Home Seeker or Investor Audubon Gardens is a beautiful tract of land right in line with the city’s most rapid development. It is skirted on the north by Maple Road (38th Street) and 34th Street on the south. A few minutes’ ride on the Fort Benjamin Harrison line takes you to Audubon Gardens. Get off at Ritter Avenue—across the street is the north boundary of Audubon Gardens. Asa Place for Home Seekers In these days of trolley cars and automobiles, there is no good reason why we should not enjoy the open air of a suburban home rather than live in the crowded city, where rents are shooting skyward. Out here you can raise your own garden—the soil is rich. You get away from the smoke and turmoil. You are your own landlord. You can live economically. When the first payment ($10) on a lot is made, we give you the privilege to plant your garden or build your home. Free Plowing—Free Seed To all who purchase lots within the next ten days we will plow the ground and furnish the seed for planting the first garden. This we will do next spring—it is rather late to put in a garden this season.
How to Get to Audubon Gardens by Automobile Drive to Maple Road Boulevard (38th street), go east past Fair Grounds, cross stone bridge, follow macadamized roadway (38th street) until you reach Ritter avenue.

Indiana Professor to Study Thunder Special to Tho Times. BLOOMINGTON, Ind., June 12.—Thunder and lightning went under the ecienifle eye today. Dr. Arthur L. Foley, head of the department of physics of Indiana university, started an investigation to learn definitely the velocity of thunder and if possible something about the nature of the lightning flash itself. The government aided him in his thunder study by donating the Waterman Institute a complete set of apparatus such as was used for sound ranging on the French battle front.
