DAVIES’ RECORD NOT ONLY DARK SPOT IN G. 0. P. Finger Points at Others Who Will Not Bear Up Under Close Scrutiny. WATSON MADE TARGET Republicans at Indiana are in a quandary over the problem of what is to be dono relative to the record of Ora Davie*, their candidate for state treasurer, who. The Times first revealed, went short In his aoeonnts while treasurer of Howard county. There Is a disposition on the part of the candidates and some state leaders to insist that the party remove Davies from the ticket. But there are several reasons why this course does not meet with universal approval Friends of Mr. Davies insist that be dees not deserve such treatment, that it is up to all republicans to stand together and it would be a weakening admission of the lneompeteney of the convention to select party candidates to remove Davies now. They also point out that the Indlantpolls News, in its desperate efforts to discredit Senator Watson a9 a party leader, has asserted that Watson is responsible for Davies being on the ticket. SEE REMOVAL AS SLAP AT WATERING WATSON. They say that to remove Davies would be a slap at Watson that would further weaken him in the eyes of republicans and they admit that he Is now too weak to make a successful race against Thomas Taggart without the track being cleared in his favor. But the thing that makes the removal of Davies from the ticket most dangerous to the republicans is the fact that it will establish a precedent for the handling of other candidates on the state ticket. Certain republican leaders know that Davies Is not the only weak "spot” on the state ticket. They fear that If a precedent is established by removing him, they will be called upon to follow the same course in reference to at least one other candidate on the state ticket and possible more, with the ultimate result that the republican state ticket at the election will be so widely different from that nominated at the convention that it will not bear mneb a resemblance to the so-called "party choice^’ RECORD OF ANOTHER DOES NOT SPEAK WELL. These republican leaders know that The Times has evidence of disloyalty, drunkenness and embezzlement against another of the republican state candidates and they are fearful that if they remove Davies because he has a record of improper handling of, county funds the evidence against another member of the state ticket will be brought out and will create a demand that the same action be taken In regard to the other candidate, whose nomination has already been attributed by the News to the influences of James P. Goodrich. These leaders also know that at least two to the Marion county candidates have records which will not bear scrutiny. One of the county candidates is a draft evader who is likely at any time to be called upon by the federal government for an explanation of why he claimed exemption as the sole support of a parent who Is paying taxes on more than $50,000 worth of paying property in Pennsylvania. Another of the republican candidates in Marion county has a record in connection with the disappearance of a tine driving

Summary action on the records of republican candidates Is the one thing that the republicans this year want everything else but, and the insistent demand that action be taken in the Davies case Is about as agreeable to the republican boses as would be a court investigation of the Marion county primaries and exposure of the deal by which a recount was made to look undesirable to the backers of a certain defeated candidate who can not understand why so many more votes were oast for his opponent than were recorded on the poll sheets In certain negro precincts. The latest effort to avoid any action on the Davies case is a movement to have the republican state committee accept what has become popularly known as the “Goodrich whitewash committee plan.”

It ha* boon suggested that a committee be appointed to examine into Davies recorded shortage and “whitewash” him. With this whitewash report it is reasoned that the republican party can better afford to carry the load of Davies' candidacy than it can to set a precedent for the removal of more of its lame ducks. Easy to Keep All Teeth Pearly White
It will be found quite easy to keep the teeth white, shining and free from discoloration by brushing them once a week with anew and remarkable product originated by a well-known dentist. While It contains nothing which might injure the enamel or gums, it will surely remove even the most obstinate stains and deposits. The reasou so many teeth, are never thoroughly clean, no matter how much they are brushed and scrubbed, is the presence of transparent films. or "plaques,"' so-called, which adhere to the tooth surface and which become discolored bv dirt, decayed food, nicotine or other things. These films are really thin layers of fat—which accounts for that slippery feeling when touched with the tongue—and dentifrices do not penetrate tuem. They are completely and quickly removed by "Onee-a-Week Tooth Polish,” however, and the trouble will not reappear if this is used at regular intervals. It keeps teeth, gums and mouth In a hygienic condition, and there Is no surer preventive of stains, tartar, decay, soreness or sponginess of gums. Any druggist can supply It.—Advertisement.

You may be starving your blood In the midst of plenty. It Isn't how much joti eat that counts, but it's how you digest the food you eat. You cannot get steam out of water without Are; you can't get brain power, nerve force and red blood corpuscles out of food without digestion. Thousands lack sufficient vital force and don’t know why. They think they need a tonic, a vacation or a change of scenery, but they don’t. It's old indigestion that’s the matter with them, and six days of my Dreco will prove It. They don't get the strength out of their food. It's like running corn through a mill with the rollers too wide apart: the corn goes through, but the mill doesn’t grind. These are only two out of hundreds, yes, thousands.
