SCHOOL ADDITIONS TO COST $1,645,000 Bids on Big Bond Issue Will Be Received June 12. Bids •will be received by the school beard June 12 for'a total of $1,645,000 in bonds, the proceeds to be used for the construction and improvement* of school buildings. The sale, which had been approved by' the state board of tax commissioners, was approved by the school board last night. The projects for which the bonds will be used includa anew power plant at rfte Atsenal Technical schools. $650,000; shop at the Arsenal Technical schools, fl5C,000; new buildings at school .No. 22, $320,000. and new buildings at school No. 26, $525,000. The bonds will bear Interest at the rate of per cent. The Indianapolis Coal Company received the contract for supplying the coal for the schools next winter. The bid was $5.05 a ton for lump coal; $5.70 a ton for mine run, and $5.45 a ton for nut and slack. The only other bidder was the Morris Coal Company, which bid $6.35 a ton on lump coal; $6.15 on mine run and $5.95 on nut and‘slack. , The Indianapolis Coal Company offered to supply Indiana coal, while the bid of the Morris Company was on Illinois coal. ' * The board appropriated $2,000 to pay the expenses of the combined high school Commencements to be held at the coliseum at the state fair grounds June 4. The board also authorized the expenditure of SI,OOO by the city library for reading matter. Legion to Decide on State Representatives A conference of members of the state executive committee of the American legion with Raymond S. Springer, state commander, and 1,. Russell Xewgent, state adjutant, will be held here Sunday afternoop to complete plans for the state legion convention to be held at Vincennes. Ind., June 2S and 29. The conference will settle the question of representation at the convention.-
