DRAWS UP PLAN FOR SOLDIER AID WASHINGTON, April 20.—A fourfold soldier aid program, giving the service men the option of a cash bonus credit toward purchase of a farm or a home, vocational training or paid-up government insurance is now being formulated by the house ways and means committee, Chairman Fordney said today. Four subcommittees have been considering the four proposals during the last three weeks, and it is said their efforts will be combined into one bill, which will be reported to the house next week, according to Fordney. The combined plan in the main follows the demands of the American Legion. All of the four optional propositions would be based on the number of days a man served. Likewise, all forms of aid would bo limited to the men who suffered the heaviest financial losses. This class numbers about 3.000.(00 out of the 4,800,000 enrolled In the army, navy and marine corps. At present the committee is considering proposals to fix these amounts at from $1 to $1.75 for each day served. The credits planned in other sections of the bill to aid in home or land buying, vocational training or the continuance of government insurance probably will be about 50 cents for each day’s service in excess of the cash bonus figure.

Fear Girl Captive of Colored Man Detectives today fear a 14-year-old girl is held captive by a colored man. She is Martha Huff, who was lured away at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon while playing near the West Michigan street bridge. A widespread search is on. Nora Smock, 11, her stepsister, was with her when the man came up to them. “He told Martha he’d give her some pretty clothes if she'd go with him,” •Nora told the detectives. The child told her stepsister she would be back in five minutes, the younger girl claims. Nora waited, but Martha never returned, , Hugh Smock, 420 Bank avenue, is the stepfather of the missing girl. William Johnson, M 4 Mlley avenue, a watchman at the Belt railroad and Michigan street, told the police he saw the girl accompany the man west on Michigan street. That was the last trace of the girl, although her parents, their neighbors and the police searched during the night for her. ,

LOCAL RESIDENT GAINED TWENTY POUNDS WEIGHT Mrs. Woods Declares She Doesn’t Look Like Same Person Since Taking Trutona. STORY CONVINCING , i “I’ve gained at least twenty pounds In wright In the past rix weeks that I’ve been taking' Trutona.” For anyona to gain twenty pounds in weight in six weeks' time Is alone remarkable, but the above statement made a few days ago by Mrs. Hannah Woods, rndianapolis woman of 421 West Merrill street, is more than remarkable when It Is learned of the serious condtlon of Mrs. Wood's health when she began using the Perfect Tonic. Herb is Mrs. Wood’s own story of her relief and it Is one that should convince even the most skeptical that Trutona is no medicine of ordinary merit. "I was irnffertng from after-effects of Influenza,” she said. “I had such pains In my ride and chest and I couldn’t eat anything. I coughed all the time, often coughing until I would vomit. The pains in my side were so severe I could hardly walk across the room. My neighbors had noticed my serious condition. "I had tried everything I heard of but nothing seemed to help me until I began using Trutona. But It took Trutona only a week to start me on the road to health and today I'm a well woman. The pains In my side and chest vanished in a short time and I can eat anything I care for now without suffering any of the former bad after effects. I never cough now as I used to. “I’ve gained twenty pounds In weight and simply don't look like the same woman that I did six weeks ago. T nitons’* pnt me on my feet, restored my health. In fact, and I can recommend it to everyone.”— Advertisement.

TRUTONA DAILY WINS UNSTINTED PRAISE AS TONIC Hundreds Overcome Tired, Draggy Feeling of Spring Thru Its Use. Does the coming of spring with all Its pleasures mean anything to YOU? “That all depends,” may be Hyu answer, and, admittedly, “it all —it all dependg upon whether or not your system has withstood the exacting siege of winter that leaves in its wake so many, many thousands of people with completely run-down systems. In fact, conspicuously in the minority are those who have completely avoided the ravages of winter maladies. True, there are thousands who were successful in warding off attacks of Influenza and still more thousands who escaped pneumonia. but WHO IS THERE THAT DID NOT EXPERIENCE AT LEAST QMS HEAVY WINTER COLD DURING TOT PAST SEASON ? Remember, only second in severity to pneumonia and influenza is the heavy winter cough or cold. Like pneumonia and influenza, winter coughs and colds tend to weaken and materially affect aimost every vital organ of the body. People who have suffered a heavy winter cough, yet feel that their systems have escaped the strain of winter weather, are sadly mistaken. If they could but grasp the facts they would not wonder why they feel so tired, sluggish, lifeless and generally out of fix, when they*know they should be full of “pep” and vitality, in perfect harmony with the invigorating breezes and sunshiny weather of spring. Thousands of people are now taking Trutona, the Perfect Tonic, to overcome this weakened physical condition so prevalent at the close of winder, and hundreds of public statements, now being made daily, prove that none has been disappointed in Trutona as a reconstructive agency, system purifier and body invigerator. Trutona does its work quickly. It speedily attacks the impurities in the blood that might. If left alone, bring serious results. It rebuilds broken dowm tissues, strengthens the nerve centers riro produces proper digestion and assimilation of food, at the same time throwing off any decayed matter that may have accumulated. In short, Trutona thoroughly and efficiently toues up every organ of the body and gives to your physical being the vigor and vitality, which alone can place within your reach the many piastres which spring offers to the healthy ■ran and woman,—Advertisement.
GAINS STRENGTH DESPITE HER AGE A striking feature of the scores of testimonials given daily praising Trutona ta the large number that come from aged people, many of whom had almost given up hope of ever gaining relief from their troubles. Here ia a statement from Mrs. Nani* Brunton, 71, of 606 Birch avenue. “I suffered with asthma, which caused me to be terribly short of breath,” she •aid. “I was very weak and nervous and I'd just have to gasp for breath at times. I guess I had used every kind of medicine, but none of them helped me until I found Trutona. “I've certainly benefited through three weeks’ Trutona treatment. Why, I can get my breath a hundred times better now. I’m gaining strength rapidly, too, and am able to sleep soundly all night now, something I haven’t been able to do for years. “I’m surely grateful for the relief Trutona has given me and I’m glad to tell others, suffering as I did, about Trutona's merits.’’—Advertisement.
