BELIEVE PAIR HELD PLANNED BANK ROBBERY Cumberland Men Identify Suspects as Two Who Acted Strangely There, Detectives said today they believe the two suspected cracksmen ’taken in a spectacular manner in their room at the Hotel Severin were preparing to go to Cumberland, twelve miles east of Indianapolis, to plunder the bank there when they were arrested. This information was obtained when officials of the bank told the detectives that the pictures of the two men which appeared in The Indiana Daily Times were'those of the men who visited the Cumberland bank a few days before. The suspects were taken into custody after Detectives Duncan and DeKossette found a bag containing “yeggmen's” equipment and nitroglycerine In the hotel Sunday night. This bag was claimed by one of the men. They gave their names as Edward Stevens of Kansas City and Arthur Welling of Dayton. Some of the tools and equipment found in the possession of the suspects have been identified as being Identical with those used by the cracksmen who blew open the safe iu the office of the Western Oil Refining Company’s gasoline filling station at North Meridian aad Twenty-fifth streets, the detectives say. More than SC,OOO was taken in this robbery. Edward Huntington and Harvey Barrett, officials of the Cumberland bank, say they are positive the two men held are the same who acted suspiciously around the bank last Friday. Cries Redmyve, a barber, identified the picture of Stevens as the “big fellow who sneaked around the side of the bank building in the alley while the other two entered the bank.” Mr. Barrett, cashier of the bank, was equally positive as to the identification of the suspects. “They planned to blow the safe In our bank. I am sure,” he said. That the alleged yeggmen are kind hearted when they see young women walking Is attested to by two school teachers. The men gave them a ride in their automobile Friday when they were on their way to Indianapolis. The school teachers are instructors at the township school two miles east of the end of the East Washington street city car line. They were walking to the car line when the men stopped and gave them a ride. The teacher* are Miss Anna Selling, living on North Pennsylvania street, and Miss Ruby Bever, Livifig on DeQuincy street. They said today that the men discussed having visited Cumberland! In regard to renting an office. Detectives are waiting for reports from Chicago and other cities where photographs and other Identification means of the suspects have been sent. Their cases have been continued in city court until April 26. Furnace Company to Build Factory A permit to erect a one-story factory building at 1322-20 North Capitol avenue, was Issued by Walter B. Stern, building commtssioneT. to the Hall-Neal Furnace Company today. Eyesight Dim? A Perfect Way to Whiten Teeth A woman’s beauty is completely spoiled by stained, ‘unhealthy or broken teeth. A smile, which ought to be such a beautiful thing, should reveal an even row of perfectly white teeth. But, unfortunately, few sets of teeth are really white, for the simple reason that brushing with the usual dentifrices is not an effective means of removing stains, and so many dread the periodical visit to the dentist to have their teeth scraped. All teeth are covered with thin films or “plaques,'' which are bound to become discolored in time If only tooth powder or paste Is depended upon to keep them spotless. Maay have learned, however, of a remarkable product, "Once-a-Week Tooth Polish,’’ which Is a veritable won-der-worker. In removing the brownish or grayish Alt'- from the teeth Also that once removed, stains and tartar will never return if this harmless preparation is used once a week, as the name suggests. The almost Invariably remarkable benefit following the use of Blood-Iron Phosphate Is said to bo due to the fact that It does two things—feeds the nerves and supplies Iron to the blood.
