STUDY ZONING IN OTHER CITIES Park Officials on Trip Preparatory to Drafting Law. James H. Lowry, park superintendent, and J. Clyde HoCTman. attorney for the park board, will leave the city Sunday for Chicago and St. Ikmils to make a study of zoning in order to draft suitable legislation for zoning residence and business sections here. An order was issued by the park board yesterday barring all horse racing. gambling and offensive or dangeous business within 500 feet of any of the city boulevards in an effort to protect, in some measure at least, the invasion of commercial site* In residence sections. The order was said to be aimed at the Craig Hunt slotors company, which concern proposes to erect an assembly plant at Thirty-eighth and Meridian streets. Public spirited citizens and civic organizations have gone on record as being opposed to the factory building and there is a general sentiment favoring the zoning system.

Man Held as Alien Freed by DeMiller Walter B. Smith, held in the county jail at Kokomo, pending Investigation of charges of violating the immigration laws, today was ordered released C. DeMiller, Immigration inspector, who received word from Washington, D. C.. that Smith bad proved his nationality as an American. Smith was arrested with Mrs. J. N. Martin, both of them having been charged with entering the United States from Canada for immoral purposes. Mrs. Martin was deported several weeks ago.
