The Right Thing at the Right Time By MARY MARSHALL 8. DUFFEE. V J The House Dance It is a good deal easier to get up a little dance among your friends in your own home than it used to he, because of the automatic piano players or musi machines that are to be found in almost every home nowadays. If yon have a Jolly crowd of young persons who are not too exacting you should not hesitate to get up a little dance even If yonr house Is small. The custom of having bare floors with rugs Instead of carpets also makes the impromptu dance an easier matter. All one needs to do is to have the rugs put out of the way and the furniture pushed back so as to give floor ..pace. If possible one room or even the ha’l should be arranged with chairs so that, those who do not wish to dance .may stt In peace without being disturbed by the dancers. Refreshments are served In the kitchen and dispensed in the pantry and are banded about from there by the men guests if there are not enough servants There should always be two rooms arranged for cloakrooms, one for the men and one for the women, and right sbculd be left burning in tin >■ rooms. On the bureau or dressing table for the women there should always be placed a freshly washed brush and comb, one or two Jars of powder and a supply or

There should also be a fresh package of assorted hairpins, some ordinary pins and a needle and thread in case one of the dancers needs to repair a torn frock. If yonr house is largo enough it is . good idea to have one room set aside as a smoking room for the men. Cigars, eigarets, matches qnd ash trays should be conveniently placed.
