NEW YORK, Jan. 26.—Babe Ruth will set anew home run record next season ! This is the confident prediction of the Babe Ruth Boosters’ association, with members in every city and village throughout the land. And here is the reason. Asa member of the New York Yankees the burly Babe will play perhaps seventy odd games of baseball on the Polo grounds next summer. And the Polo grounds are made to order for Ruth’s pet brand of home runs. The Baltimore Babe has a habit of hitting the ball high and far away toward right field stands and fences. He often hits a ball so high that it looks like a handball to the outfielders. ADd at the Polo grounds the right wing of the big stadium offers a rangy and spacious nest for Ruth’s homers. Because he hits a Gall high he will undoubtedly put many a one into that right field wing. ESTIHATED HE'LL REGISTER 85. Tlie more excitable members of the Ruth boosters' club are predicting undreamed of things for the star slugger. The conservative element Is agreed that Ruth probably will better his 1919 mark by five or six homers. If ho can hammer out six more he will set the mark at thirty-five, which will be some record for future sluggers to shoot at. Figuring thnt Ruth made four of his twenty-nine homers at the Polo grounds last summer and visited the metropolis only three times, it is easy to see where the dopesters are getting their ideas.
