Allow Waists to Dry After Ironing If shirtwaists are allowed to bang on coat hangers for several hours after being Ironed, they will stay fresh much longer, and look better. This allows the seams and threads to become thoroughly dried, and therefore prevents a musty smell if the waist is enclosed in a drawer several days before being worn.
