Cct. 10, 1835. N. & G. SPARKS. Notice. TO BRICK MAKERS AND BUILDERS. THE great demand for Sawyer's Patent Brick Machines, has induced the proprietor for the West, to make arrangements in addition to his own facilities with Mr. S. S. Dickinson, manufacturer of the celebrated Franklin Printing Press, tp devote a part of his veryextensive establishment to the erection of these brick machines, without, however, interfering with his means for furnishing, as usual, his variety of printing materials. This method of making Brick has been practically proven to be the best yet known, either as regards economy and expedition in manufacturing or quality of the article when made. Competition, the test of all such matters, is cordially and respectfully invited.

The Patent Right is considered well secured, even beyond the possibility of infringement; some of the ablest Counsel in the Union having been employed in preparing the specifications of the same. The subscriber will sell and give clear titles for Rights to use the Machine in any Western Town or County noyet sold. He will also furnish Castings, with the wrought Iron, separately or together, or contract for building Mat chines in the West on favorable terms. J. C. MELCHER. Oct. 3. 36-8w Louisville,

Vegetable TOOTH-ACHE DROPS. HE subscriber has the pleasure of offering to the Pnhlir a fresh suddIv of his remedy for that tor

menting disease the TOOTH-ACHE, w hich he has discovered after a series of experiments pursued for nearly two years. In the composition of this remedy he assures the public that there is not the smallest particle of any mineral substance, that it is entirely compounded from the vegetable kingdom, and that its tendency is, instead of corroding the nerve and substance of the tooth, to preserve both. It acts as a sedative, and also as an intiseptic, without producing the slightest increase of pain, and on its application almost instantaneous, relief is obtained. . Numerous certificates are in the possession of the subscriber, of cures performed by this remedy, but as some of them can be seen where the "drops" are for sale and the others on application to the subscriber, it is deemed useeess to insert them here as the publication would be more Ixpeusive than necessary. A single vial will be sufficient if properly applied to cure from 60 to 100 cases, and as printed directions accompany each vial, any person can administer it even to himself. FALL l WINTER GOODS. THE subscribers have just received from New York an assortment of seasonable goods, which, with their former stock, makes their assortment complete. Purchasers wrill find it to their interest to call and examine for themselves. JOHN P. DUNN &. Co. Oct. 2d, 1835. 3S-tf Specific Ointment (Price Fifty Cents.) THIS invaluable medicine is celebrated for curing the following diseases: 1st. Jl'hite Siccllings of every description. 2d. Sore legs and Ulcers of long standing. 3d. Scirrous or Grandular Tumorsy particularly those hardened Tumors in woman's breasts which oftentimes terminate in ulcerated caucers.

4th. Eelons, or what some people know by the uame of Catarrhs, of every description. 5th. Rheumatic pains of the joints. Gth. Sprains and Bruises of every description or in whatever part situate. 7th. Tetters of all kinds. In this complaint, the patient in applj-ing the ointment mnst keep the part out of the water 8th. Chilblains, or parts affected by frost. It is also one of the best remedies for burns and scalds. It eases the pain and draws the fire out in a short time. For women's inflamed breasts, and glandular swellings, it is superior to any medicine yet known to the medical faculty. It is much safer than mercurial applications, (as it does not contain the smallest atom of that mineral,) because it does not lay the patient liable to injury from exposure to cold. This ointment has cured sores of many years standing. When it is impossible or imprudent to heal the external sore, in consequence of the bones becoming carious or rotton, it will slop the progress of the caries, increase the quantity of the discharge, remove the offensive smell, and ease the pain. It cures the worst felon or whitlows on an application of

forty-eight hours. Rheumatisms w hich have stood as long as to become a systematic disorder, require medicine to be taken inwardly to remove them entirely. But in most cases by applying this ointment externally, as directed, it will give relief. And even old people whose pains have beeu of longer standing, it will ease the pain. CERTIFICATE. Sir From the benefit which a son of mine has received from your Specific Ointment, I am induced to send you a statement of his case, w hich you may dispose of for the benefit of others in a similar situation. He had a w hite swelling in his knee, which, from its long continuance and painfulness, had reduced him very low, and rendered him lame. The physician who attended him finally quit him, with very little benefit done. My son at this time was in a hopeless situation. I then sent and got one pot of your Ointment, and the benefit which he received from it, induced me to persevere in the application. I sent andprocur ed a few pots more, which has finally cured him. DR. THOMAS WHITE'S Vegetable Tooth-Ache Drops.

THE only specifie offered to the public from which a permnnent and radical cure may be obtainied of that disagreable pain, the toothache, with all its evils, such as fractering the jaw in extracting of the teeth, wheh often proves more painful than the toothache itself; and cold passing fromthe decayed teeth to the jaw, thhence to the head producing a rheumatic affection, with many other unpleasant effects; such as a disagreeable breath, bad taste in the mother &c. Sec. all of which are produced from foul or decaj-ed taeth. I am happy to have itin my power to offer to the wnrld a remedy, that will not only remove the pain nine times out of ten, if properly applied, but preserve the teeth from further decay, and arrest the disease in such as are deca3ring and have not commenced aching, restoring them to health and usefulness. CERTIFICATE. Mr. White : I have the pleasure to inform you, that agreeable to your request, 1 have been nsing your Tooth, ache Drops in my practice for some time past, and I must acknowledge that I find them far superior to any thing I have ever yet known for that purpose. You are entirely safe in recommending them to cure nine times out of ten;

lor trom ihe success that 1 have had, 1 believe your recommendation falls short of their merits. I am well convinced that it will cure most cases of Toothache when it is timely and properly applied. I am not able to say much at this time as to its preseratsve properties; but from what I have seen of your teeth that have long been cured and preserved from decaying, and from a few weeks experience I am decidedly of the opinion that it will have a very beneficial effect in preserving the teeth, and recommend it, hoping that it may prove a blessing to humanitv, and advantageous'to yourself.
