Wheeling, Aug. 2. Keel Boat Accident. We learnt yesterday that a large keel boat, full of dry goods, was sunk at Racoon Shoals, 34 miles below Pittsburgh. Particulars have not reached us, but it is said the boat swung over the bar and filled in deep water. The cargo must be principally wet. We hope, for the sake of our Western friends, that the damage will not be heavy. It is qutc certain, however, that if these goods had been sent by cur Haiti more and Wheeling route, they would have escaped injury on these shoals, or any other of the numerous impediments, to free and safe navigation, which exists, at this season, between Pittsburgh and this place.
Tic Blacks. The Woodbury Herald cf Tuesday last says, that the upper part of Glaucestcr, N. J., ,4is literally overrun with blacks, driven by the violence of an infuriated mob from their homes and property in Philadelphia, to seek shelter and protection among the farmers of our county. Their numbers previous to this influx had become in some places troublesome; in others a burtherand a nuisance. A temporary sojourn among us, considering the circumstances of the case, may be borne with but the first indication of a permanent residence should, and we feel confident will, call forth a rigid enforcement of the statute against the admission of blacks into our boundaries."
