The meeting being organized, the chairman briefly explained the object of the meeting, which was to nominate a candidate for the Senate of State, in the room of Johnson Halts and Horace Basset. On motion of 3Ir. Thomas K. Coles, Daniel Plummer, of .Manchester, was nominated for State Senator and carried-all the members voting in the affirmative fbut one. On motion, it was agreed that the proceedings be signed by the chairman and secretary and published in the Palladium, Indiana Whig, and Rising Sun limes, and that those several papers be requested insert the name of said Daniel Plummer on the list of candidates for State Senator, and strike from the list of 'candidates the names of Col.
