When the 5th dragoon guards charged the French on the plain of Salmanca it is stated, one of the men was thrown off his horse: the animal dashed into the enemy Ts lines and after the regiment to which be belonged bad retired from the charge, be was seen scampering jbout amongst the French infantry, kicking and frolicking.
