V2 :URI)AY,JAXUARY G 1827. We invite the attention of all those interested in tb advancement of Litenture and the inarch of mini, to the vary interesting Keport of the Lawrencrburgh Library Association; it will doubtless be a matter of peculiar sa.isfictioa to many, to he informed of the improvement, and growing importarce of this institu. tion.
The proceedings receiver from the Legislature of this stats, during the pastweek, m e Utile in advance of those already published. The bill proposing a relocation of the county seat of this county is still pending in the linuse f Representatives ; what the remit 7vi!l be rsc are not able to say. This bill jjrjpjses that commissioners shall be appointed to meet at Wilmington, some time next spring, .md proceed to relocate the seal of Justice. An effort will be made no doubt io co ifi'ip the commissioners, should the bill p .to some definite boundary, either as to th entre of the county or some other place, harins their duties little more than nominal. In ' jramon icith the rest of m the cilizens of tint plaoe, we feel an anxirfy that this should remain the seat of justice; but should a mijority of the county say it is necessary that it should be moved and re-located on some other situation, we shall respond amen and submit to the decision quiet iy; hut on any other ground than this ige would think a removal zcrong and injurious io the best interest of the county. Should the legislature, in their wisdom, deem it expedient to pass a bill of redocation, in accordance with the piay.r of a number of respectable citizens 7cc. hope its details will not sanction a re-location contrary to the wishes of the people of the county, clearly expressed. To some it may appear a littb trange, how a newspaper can look sick; aut this may easily be established from your own observation we allude to the imperfect impression and paleness of some of the sheets, which was occasioned mostly by working old type with new. In concluding these remark?, (which no doubt are not very interesting) we would inform those of our subscribers who wish to discontinue, that they must inform us of that fact as soon as possible, otherwise they will be considered as subscribers for the next year; and those who may find that their papers do not come to them with their accustomed regularity, will prob ably be enabled to solve

LIBRARY REPORT. There is nothing mure creditable to a age, than to behold its citizens devoted to literary pursuits, and encouraging literary i stitutions. It gives a name and a standing which wealth cannot purchase or time destroy and not only is the character of the place elevated, by tiiis literary taste pervading the commu
